Saturn in astrology

     
The Saturn is one of the malefic planets. He owns Capricorn and Aquarius signs in the zodiac system. He gets exalted in Libra and debilitated in Aries.


Saturn  takes approximately 2.5 years to pass one zodiac sign. To complete one whole orbit of the zodiac sign it takes 30 years. Since it is the farthest planet from Sun, it looks like it moves very slowly and hence he is called ‘Mandha’.

Saturn rules/signifies longevity, poverty, laziness  etc. In Uttarakalamritam, Mahakavi Kalidasa mentions below also comes under Saturn.
