When a planet is in enemy sign it has only 20% power. When it is in neutral sign it has 40% power. Plant gets 60% power when it is in a friendly sign.
Does the planets get more than 60% power or less than 20% power? The answer is Yes!!!
Planets get extremely powerful and extremely powerless when they are in certain signs.
The sign where a planet gets 100% power is called exaltation sign. In Sanskrit it is called ‘Uchcha’ power. But it doesn’t mean that it is beneficial. Based on other criteria it will shower either highly beneficial result or malefic result. We have seen that planets rotate in 360 degrees. A planet gets debilitated 180 degrees from the degrees it get exaltation power.
What does ‘Uchcha’ or exaltation mean? I’ll explain with one example. Exaltation means the rays of the planet will be more on earth at that time. In other words, influence of the particular planet will be high on earth. Sun is exalted in Aries. According to solar calendar, Chitra is the month(Mid April to Mid May) when sun travels in sign Aries. We all know that it is summer and we get more heat from Sun i.e., sun’s influence is more during that time.
The sign where a planet gets 0% power is called debilitation sign. In Sanskrit it is called ‘Neecha’ power. Again it doesn’t mean that it will give negative results. Based on other criteria a neecha planet gives either positive or negative result.
Neecha or debilitation means when a planet has very least or nil influence on earth. Sun gets debilitated in Libra. According to solar calender it is Asvina/Thula month (Mid October to Mid November). During this time it will not be hot, but cold and rainy season too.
The point is when a planet’s rays/influence is more on earth it is called exaltation/Uchcha. When it is very less or nil then it is debilitated/Neecha.
I have given below the planets exaltation and debilitation signs.
